« I discovered mass retail, through FDG, in April of 1990: product lines, the 20/80 rule, points-of-sale, turnover, rotations, orders, inventories, layouts, sales…
My job: I handle a set of tasks that require a high degree of attention to detail, organizational skills, and a healthy dose of flexibility, as well as diplomacy and finesse.
Over these 19 years I learned to work on a team, to understand customer needs, and to identify my priorities. There is such a variety of product lines and items that every day is different. The human aspect of my job is also very important, and our contacts in the stores are a source of enrichment.
I also appreciate the autonomy of our profession, the freedom to manage my rounds as I see fir. I find this job very fulfilling because it is so varied!
To be a good manager, I think you need to be dedicated, independent, and organized.».
